The secret to glowing face is knowing the right products to use. Most of us maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and regular exercise, but it does not stop there. We can also keep healthy skin through the products we use on them. There are lots of natural products that can make your skin radiate in beauty and appear ever young. These products are chemical-free, very affordable, better for your skin, and better for the environment. We have them readily available in our houses but might not be aware of how effective they can be on our skin.
Some of the products I have used and can testify, they are perfect for my skin are: –
Aloe Vera: – has a lot of properties, it is widely used for health purposes and also for skincare. Its gel helps to moisturise the face and keep it hydrated, even soothing sunburn. It is suitable for dry skin and can reduce acne. You may also want to know that this fantastic natural product has anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and anti-microbial properties.
Oatmeal: – is not just for breakfast as a cereal. It has beautiful properties that make it suitable for the skin. It can be used for all skin types and can reduce acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Oatmeal acts as an exfoliator, moisturiser, and improves dryness on the skin.
Cucumber: – is another surprising fruit, we eat as snacks or in a salad. Apart from being a suitable fruit for weight loss, it has incredible properties for the skin, especially the eyes. It is an excellent moisturiser, has a cooling effect on the eyes. Cucumber helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eyes. It has numerous properties that are very amazing on the skin, such as anti-aging, anti-wrinkles around the eyes.
Lemon: – is an acidic fruit that contains a high concentration of vitamin C. It has some properties which can reduce inflammation and premature aging. Having said that, its acidic nature can have side effects on the skin if used more than required. Before using lemon on the skin, it is best to seek advice from your dermatologist.
Honey: – as we all know; honey is sweet and stick syrup produced from bees. Pure honey or manuka honey (i.e., honey that has not been processed) is the best honey for treating acne. Honey acts as a natural exfoliator, which removes dull, dry skin and brings out new skin cells. It has also got medicinal properties; it helps to facilitate the healing process and reduce inflammation.
Coconut oil: – coconut oil is extracted from the raw coconuts. It is not only suitable for cooking; it is also very safe to use on the skin. It has healing properties, removing scars, flaky and dry sole of feet. Virgin or pure Coconut oil is a surprisingly fantastic oil for moisturising dry skin, help in treating acne, and reduces inflammation. It is advised to avoid leaving it on the face overnight, especially if you have oily or sensitive skin.
It is interesting how these organic products we have in our homes can benefit us in so many ways. Researches have shown, they are not just for consuming, they are also very suitable for our skin. I learnt this unusual secret to radiating skin, from a friend of mine. I am happy to share the recipe with you, it is worth trying. You will never regret it, as it is incredible and very affordable and, most importantly, organic.
Before you try this recipe. Check if you have allergy or reaction to any of the products, by doing a sample test on your hand and waiting for a few minutes if no reaction then it is safe to use. As some people might be allergic or react to honey, oat, or any other product. If you are unsure, it is best to seek advice from a dermatologist, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Here is a recipe I use as a face scrub daily.
– 2 or 3 tablespoons of oat powder (oat ground to a powder)
– 1 teaspoon of pure honey.
– A drop of lemon juice (squeezed from a natural lemon – optional)
– A small quantity of hot water
– 2 slices of cucumber
– Cleansing pad
– Aloe vera gel (small amount- optional)
1. Grind the rolled oat to get powdery consistency.
2. Add honey, a drop of lemon, aloe vera gel, and hot water
3. Mix together to get a smooth paste.
4. Allow cooling a little bit.
5. Apply to your face using the cleansing pad, to massage it.
6. Place the slices of cucumber around your eyes, making sure your eyes are closed.
7. Leave for 5- 10 minutes.
8. Remove the face mask or face scrub with the cleansing pad.
9. Rinse with clean water.
10. Repeat 3 times weekly. Do not leave overnight, as this might cause irritation on the skin.
11. You can apply a little coconut oil and make sure to remove before bedtime, as leaving overnight might cause pores clogging, especially for oily or sensitive skin.
Skin is to the beholder what perfume is to the nostrils. It hits the eyes first. A glowing skin speaks volumes, and who wouldn’t want to blossom and radiate beauty wherever they go?
The amazing part is you don’t get to rob a bank, and you will also be free from chemicals! I’m just as excited as I hope you are….
